Hyderabad Excise Arrests 4 with 5.24kg Ganja in Old City

House Raid in Jummerat Bazaar, Bikes & Phones Seized

Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department on Saturday, February 7, arrested four persons during a house raid in Hyderabad’s Old City area and seized 5.24 kilograms of ganja.

Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force raided the house of Vikas Singh alias Vicky at Jummerat Bazaar, where the narcotic substance was found concealed inside a bag kept in one of the rooms.

According to officials, Vikas Singh procured ganja from suppliers in Andhra Pradesh at a rate of Rs 2,000 per kilogram. After bringing it to Hyderabad, he allegedly packed the drug into small sachets and sold 30 grams for Rs 1,500 to customers.

The arrested accused were identified as Vikas Singh, Mithilal Singh, Akash Singh, and Vishal Singh. During the raid, officials also seized four motorcycles and five mobile phones used in the illegal operation.

Police said four other individuals involved in the case are absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them. Further investigation is ongoing.
