In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested two drug peddlers, Shareef and Mohammed Suleman, on Monday in separate raids in Hyderabad. The arrests took place in the suburbs of the city, marking a crucial step in the fight against illegal drug trade.

The first arrest occurred at Shivareddy Nagar in Quthbullapur, where STF officials apprehended Shareef, a suspected drug dealer. A search of his premises led to the seizure of 1.36 kg of ganja. Additionally, authorities confiscated his motorcycle and mobile phone, which were believed to be used in his illicit operations.

In another operation, the STF raided Maruthi Langer Houz in Golconda and arrested Mohammed Suleman, a known drug peddler. The raid resulted in the seizure of five grams of MDMA, along with Suleman’s motorcycle and two mobile phones. The arrested individual was found to be actively involved in distributing the drug within the city.

Meanwhile, the Secunderabad Railway Police carried out a major drug destruction operation. Over 2.01 metric tonnes of ganja, valued at Rs 10.05 crore, was destroyed in Thokkapur village, located in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. This substantial quantity of contraband had been seized from various locations, with the majority of cases coming from the Secunderabad Urban area.

The combined efforts of the STF and railway police reflect the growing commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. Investigations are still ongoing as authorities continue to track and apprehend individuals linked to the narcotics network.
