The Rajendranagar Police and the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad Police have dismantled an interstate narcotics racket, arresting six offenders and seizing MDMA and ganja.
Arrest of Peddlers
Acting on intelligence, Rajendranagar and Madhapur SOT officers set up surveillance near Aramghar X Road on the early hours of November 6. Three suspected drug peddlers were intercepted after arriving on a private bus:
Gandhi Sandeep (23) – Nursery operator from Bengaluru
Sangadi Santosh (26) – Businessman from Kakinada
Kandepalli Shiva Kumar (23) – Lorry driver from Rajahmundry
The trio had concealed 17 grams of MDMA crystals and 150 grams of ganja in their luggage.
Investigations revealed the drugs were procured through an unknown Instagram handler in Bengaluru via “dead-drop” methods. The peddlers paid Rs 2,000 per gram of MDMA and planned to sell it in Hyderabad at Rs 5,000 per gram.
Arrest of Consumers
Following confessions, three consumers were detained at a petrol pump near Aramghar X Road:
Palaka Sai Babu (25) – Techie from Rajahmundry
Kotha Vishal Reddy (28) – Private worker from Khajaguda
Pilishetty Sameer (24) – Photographer from KPHB Colony
Police recovered five mobile phones used for negotiations and Rs 9,700 in cash.
Background and Investigation
Sangadi Santosh had a prior NDPS case registered in Andhra Pradesh in 2021.
The network relied on social media and interstate couriers to avoid detection.
A primary supplier remains at large, prompting a police manhunt.
