The Hyberabad Central Crime Station (CCS) Balanagar team, in collaboration with Jeedimetla Police, has arrested two habitual automobile thieves, recovering a car, seven motorbikes, and a goods carrier vehicle valued at approximately Rs25 lakh.
The accused, identified as 32-year-old N Srinivas Rao from IDA Jeedimetla, Quthbullapur, and 26-year-old Mohammed Shoheb from Dundigal, Quthbullapur, have been involved in bike thefts since 2014. Their criminal activities spanned multiple police jurisdictions including Jeedimetla, Suraram, Pet Basheerabad, Neredmet, Kushaiguda, and Shameerpet, under Hyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates.
Police investigations link more than 15 theft cases to the duo. Both men have a significant criminal history, with previous arrests and judicial remands in several theft-related offenses by Hyberabad and Rachakonda police.
Following these arrests, hyberabad Police have urged vehicle owners to always lock their vehicles, park in secure and well-lit areas, and install CCTV surveillance to prevent thefts.
