Hyberabad police have arrested Baby Arohi, a 21-year-old woman, in connection with multiple house burglary cases. Property worth Rs 2.21 lakh, including gold ornaments and silver anklets, was recovered from her possession.
Baby Arohi, a resident of Sanathnagar and originally from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, was previously involved in two cases at Borabanda and was released on bail from Chanchalguda jail on June 28.
The incident came to light when the complainant reported that an unknown person had entered her home by opening the main door lock with a key kept under a helmet on the shoe stand. Gold and silver items were stolen from the almirah.
The Jagadgirigutta crime team, along with CCS Balanagar, analyzed nearby CCTV footage and spotted a suspicious woman carrying a bag. The image was circulated among local police stations, leading to Arohi’s arrest.
During interrogation, Arohi revealed she had worked as a door-to-door saleswoman and had learned that many homeowners kept keys in predictable places like shoe racks, buckets, and flowering plants. On July 18, she entered the complainant’s house in Allwyn Colony using the key found under the helmet and stole valuables from the almirah.
She has been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
