Hyderabad police’s Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (ELITE), in coordination with Cyberabad police, arrested a 34-year-old hotelier, Surya Annamaneni, for alleged links with Nigerian drug suppliers, courier services, and upscale pubs operating in the city.
Surya, a resident of Kompally and holder of B.Tech and MBA degrees, was intercepted near his restaurant, Malnadu Kitchen. During a search of his vehicle, officers found 10 grams of cocaine, 3.2 grams of OG Kush (a cannabis strain), and 1.6 grams of ecstasy pills.
Further investigation revealed cocaine concealed in the heel compartment of a women’s slipper, packed inside a pink box and couriered from New Delhi under a fake sender’s name. Authorities are continuing their probe into Surya’s connections with drug networks operating out of Hyderabad.
