A Horseheads man has been arrested in connection with the death of a three-year-old child, Finn Hopkins, according to New York State Police.
On Monday, just before 4:00 p.m., Child Protective Services contacted troopers after Finn Hopkins was brought to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
The child’s mother’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Christopher Woods of Horseheads, brought the toddler to the hospital. Hospital staff reported suspicious injuries on Finn and a sibling, prompting an investigation.
State Police determined that Woods caused the fatal injuries. He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, arraigned in Chemung County Court, and held without bail.
