LEWISTON, ID — A 41-year-old homeless man, Christo Clarence Xiggenis, has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft after stolen items, including a Louis Vuitton wallet and multiple transaction cards, were recovered following a vehicle burglary investigation.
The Lewiston Police Department launched an investigation after a blue 2019 Kia Rio was reported to have been burglarized, with a wallet stolen from the vehicle parked at a local residence. The theft occurred sometime between March 26 and March 27, 2025. The stolen wallet was later found discarded on Main Street in Lewiston.
Upon examination, the wallet was found to contain several items, including debit and credit cards, a driver’s license, and other personal forms of identification. On April 8, a man who had discovered the cards in a dumpster at the Nom Nom gas station on Main Street turned the items over to the police. Investigators confirmed that the wallet’s original owner had not yet reported the theft.
On March 29, Lewiston Police executed a search warrant at the FairBridge Inn on Main Street, where Xiggenis had been staying. The search was part of an investigation into stolen items posted for sale online. During the search, officers discovered the Louis Vuitton wallet in Xiggenis’ room, which was positively identified as the stolen item. Body camera footage further confirmed the match.
Xiggenis admitted to having possession of the wallet and claimed he had received it from someone at a fair. Additionally, investigators found that Xiggenis had attempted to sell the wallet to another individual. Police also linked the wallet to a series of vehicle burglaries between March 17 and March 27 in Lewiston, during which Xiggenis reportedly knew that some of the items in his possession were stolen.
Along with the wallet, police recovered a debit card belonging to another victim of a vehicle burglary. This card had been reported stolen, and it was placed into evidence.
Xiggenis was arrested at the Nom Nom gas station on Main Street and booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on one count of burglary and five counts of grand theft. However, court records indicate that prosecutors are only pursuing one count of grand theft at this time.
He appeared in court on Wednesday, with bond set at $50,000.
