Guwahati, September 2025: The East Guwahati Police District (EGPD), led by Dispur Police Station, has successfully apprehended a theft suspect, bringing relief to victims and the community.
The accused, Hingleiwang Kuane (28), a resident of Manipur’s Tamenglong district, was arrested following a detailed probe into recent battery thefts. Police recovered all four stolen batteries from Kuane’s possession.
Authorities have registered a case and started legal proceedings against him. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain if Kuane is connected to a larger gang involved in theft operations across the region.
