A 22-year-old man, identified as Janarthanan, was murdered in Velankanni in a shocking case allegedly involving his wife and her two accomplices, police confirmed.
Janarthanan and Helen Mary, 21, had recently married and were living in Shivamogga, Karnataka. The couple returned to Velankanni on March 8 along with two of their friends. They checked into a local lodge upon arrival.
Later that afternoon, Janarthanan left the lodge with the two friends, while Helen Mary stayed behind. That night, the two men returned and informed Helen Mary that they had murdered Janarthanan near the Velankanni Railway Station.
Authorities have since arrested Helen Mary and the two accomplices. The motive and detailed investigation into the planning of the crime are currently underway.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with police treating the case as pre-meditated murder and continuing inquiries into the background of all involved.
