In a shocking development, Hazarat Ali, also known as Huzur Ali, a man who had recently returned from the Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca, was arrested by Guwahati City Police today after being caught with drugs in his possession. The police team intercepted an XUV vehicle (AS 01 FT 5586) at Tetelia near Jalukbari on NH27 in Guwahati, where they recovered 12.45 grams of drugs and a large amount of cash.
Along with Hazarat Ali, Golap Hussain of Kharupetia was also arrested during the operation. The police have stated that Hazarat Ali has been involved in a series of criminal activities, including land grabbing, cattle smuggling to Bangladesh, and terrorizing locals in the Sar areas of the Brahmaputra river.
This is not Ali’s first encounter with the law. Last year, his associate Arifuddin was killed by villagers while attempting a robbery in the Sar area in May. The arrest of Hazarat Ali, along with the drugs, has been met with widespread appreciation from the local community in Sar, who have praised the timely action of Guwahati City Police.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are looking into Ali’s criminal activities more deeply as they connect the dots between his recent arrest and his past offenses.
