by Sophia Bennett

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — In the early hours of June 30, 2025, deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hayden Cutter, 31, following a suspicious vehicle stop at the Travelodge Hotel on Space Village Avenue.

Around 3:10 a.m., deputies conducting a routine patrol noticed a spray-painted black Subaru Legacy with no license plates entering the hotel parking lot. When the vehicle stopped, a marked patrol unit pulled in behind it to investigate what was suspected to be a stolen vehicle.

As deputies approached, the driver—later identified as Cutter—abruptly attempted to exit the vehicle to avoid contact. While speaking with him, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and a large knife within arm’s reach of the driver seat.

A search of the vehicle uncovered:

86 grams of methamphetamine

15 fentanyl pills

A large knife

A replica UZI airsoft gun

Additional drug paraphernalia

Cutter was arrested on the spot and transported to the El Paso County Jail. He was booked on the following charges:

Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance

Special Offender

No License Plate Attached

Cutter is currently being held on a $75,000 bond. The case remains under investigation.
