Hashim Dagane Detained Over Murder of Three Eastleigh Women

Suspect Linked to Multiple Murders, Including in Ethiopia

by Amelia Crawford

Hashim Dagane, a 24-year-old Kenyan of Ethiopian descent, has been arrested in connection with the murder of three women from Eastleigh, whose bodies were discovered at various locations in Nairobi and Machakos counties. Dagane’s arrest followed a search after the women went missing, with detectives later finding a vehicle suspected of being used to transport their bodies near Wakulima House, close to Ena Coach in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

During interrogation, Dagane was also linked to a fourth murder case involving Deka Abdinoor Gorone. Gorone’s body was found at Lang’ata Cemetery, and she had been reported missing on October 24, with CCTV footage showing her last known movements on October 29 at a Quickmart supermarket in Nairobi.

In Parliament on November 7, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), John Onyango, provided further details about Dagane’s criminal background. Onyango revealed that Dagane is suspected of a violent history, including the alleged murder of one of his wives and their three children in Ethiopia. Investigations into Dagane’s involvement in these crimes and potentially others are ongoing.
