On Tuesday, February 11, Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley announced the results of a large-scale, multi-agency law enforcement operation aimed at tackling drug distribution within the region. The operation, which took place over four days from February 6 to February 9, led to the arrest of 10 individuals and the confiscation of significant amounts of illegal substances, firearms, and cash.

The Harrison County Narcotics Task Force took the lead in the operation, which had support from various state and federal agencies, including the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Mississippi Alcohol Beverage Control, Mississippi Gaming Commission, Biloxi Police Department, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Together, these agencies executed a series of eight search warrants in key areas of known drug distribution.

The arrests made during the operation came with the seizure of substantial quantities of illicit drugs, six firearms, and approximately $12,000 in cash. Among the drugs seized were fentanyl, methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), cocaine, and marijuana.

The arrested individuals face a range of serious charges, including trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, and possession of illegal substances. Notable arrests included:

Sheriff Haley commended the efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved in the successful operation, which helped target and dismantle illegal drug activities in the community. Authorities have stressed the importance of continued cooperation among state, federal, and local agencies to combat drug distribution networks in the region.

This operation serves as a reminder of Harrison County’s commitment to public safety and its ongoing efforts to address the opioid crisis and other dangerous drugs.

The individuals arrested in this operation will face prosecution, and authorities have vowed to continue their fight against illegal drug trade in the area.
