Jammu police have successfully dismantled a major two-wheeler theft racket, recovering 40 stolen motorcycles and scooters worth over Rs35 lakh across different parts of the city.
The operation, carried out by Gandhi Nagar police station under Operation AVTAR, led to the arrest of three gang members responsible for a spate of vehicle thefts in South Jammu. Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh praised the team’s efforts in tackling recurring complaints about stolen two-wheelers.
Using technical surveillance and CCTV footage, police traced the suspects and apprehended them. The arrested individuals have been identified as Harpreet Singh, Gurdarshan Singh, and Himanshu Nanda. All three confessed to multiple thefts, resulting in the successful recovery of the stolen vehicles.
Authorities stated that investigations are ongoing to determine if the gang has connections to other similar theft operations in the region.
