Harold Perkins Arrested for Hidden Cameras in NJ Bathrooms

Charged With Invasion of Privacy, Child Endangerment

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A Pennsylvania man was arrested after multiple hidden cameras were discovered in public bathrooms along a popular Jersey Shore boardwalk.

Harold Perkins, 38, of Philadelphia, is facing charges of invasion of privacy and endangering the welfare of children after authorities say he placed recording devices in public restrooms in Ocean City, New Jersey.

The case began on June 12, when a woman using the bathroom near 6th Street and the Boardwalk noticed what looked like a pen oddly sticking out from behind a trash can. That woman, Fallon Conway of Deptford, NJ, quickly realized something was wrong.

“Immediately it was weird. Something was off,” Conway told NBC10.

She alerted local authorities, prompting a sweep of nearby bathrooms. Police then found additional hidden cameras at public restrooms on 10th and 11th streets.

Investigators identified Perkins as the suspect. A joint task force executed a search and arrest warrant at his Philadelphia residence on Glenview Street, where both his home and car were searched. Perkins was taken into custody without incident.

He now faces serious charges related to both privacy violations and potential child exploitation, given the public nature of the locations involved.

“Be careful. Be aware of your surroundings. You seriously never know when you are going to come across something like this,” Conway said in a public warning.

Authorities continue to investigate whether any footage was distributed or if additional devices were planted elsewhere.
