West Delhi police have arrested Harish Sharma alias Rinku, 48, for allegedly abducting and robbing two brothers in the Rajouri Garden area.
A complaint lodged on March 19 stated that the brothers had gone near Metro Pillar No. 167, Ring Road to collect payment for gold and diamond jewellery from a known person. During the meeting, two unidentified men allegedly forced their way into the vehicle, threatened the brothers at gunpoint, and abducted them.
The criminals reportedly stole Rs 40 lakh in cash, mobile phones, an Apple Watch, jewellery, and the complainant’s vehicle.
Following the incident, police registered a case and analyzed CCTV footage. Based on the evidence, one accused, Harish Sharma alias Rinku, was identified and apprehended, according to DCP (West) Darade Sharad Bhaskar.
Authorities continue to investigate to identify and apprehend the remaining accomplices involved in the abduction and robbery.
