The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested Harish Saini, a 35-year-old resident of Nihal Vihar, in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Jhajjar, police officials said on Sunday.
Saini was wanted in relation to the murder of Sandeep alias Bablu, a resident of Ladpur village in Jhajjar, who was shot dead on July 17 by two unidentified assailants.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Aalap Patel stated that Saini provided logistical support to the shooters under the instructions of Kapil Sangwan. During the arrest at a Nihal Vihar residence, police recovered a pistol and two live cartridges. Saini allegedly aimed the weapon at the officers during the raid, but they successfully overpowered him.
Saini has a history of serious criminal activity across the Delhi-NCR region, having been previously implicated in three cases, including robbery, assault, and arms-related offences. Born in 1990, he left school after class 7. Following his father’s death, his mother worked as a domestic worker, and his elder brother is currently in Tihar Jail in connection with a murder case.
Police stated that Saini came into contact with members of the Kapil Sangwan gang during his brother’s incarceration and became involved in organized criminal activities. A case has been registered in Badli, Haryana, and further investigation is ongoing to identify additional gang associates and their roles in the crime.
