Ropar SSP Guljeet Singh Khurana stated that the arrests were part of an intensified campaign against drug addiction across the district. During a checkpoint operation in Kiratpur Sahib, police apprehended Hardeep Singh, a resident of Gondpur Jai Chand, Una, and Abhishek, from Amroh village, Talwara. Both were caught transporting large quantities of poppy husk.
