Hanumangarh: Police in Hanumangarh district arrested two drug traffickers in possession of 725 grams of heroin, valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore. The accused have been identified as Simarjeet Singh, 20, and Arshdeep Singh, 21, both residents of Ramsara village in Bathinda district, Punjab.
SP Narendra Singh Meena said the arrests were part of a broader drive against drug trafficking and other organised crimes, including illegal arms, gambling, and property-related offences.
A team led by Sangaria SHO Amar Singh set up a checkpoint on the Jamnagar–Amritsar highway (Bharatmala Road) near Rohi Ratanpura. The duo was intercepted on a motorcycle, and police recovered 725 grams of heroin from their possession.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Sangaria police station. Interrogation is ongoing to trace the supply chain and identify other members of the network. The investigation is being carried out by SHO Jagdish Singh of Talwara police station.
