In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Handwara Police arrested three individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. The arrests followed a series of checkpoints established in strategic locations, where officers intercepted suspicious individuals and recovered significant quantities of contraband substances.
At Sultanpora Bridge, a team from Police Post Zachaldara stopped a suspicious individual and seized 6 grams of a brown sugar-like substance. The individual was identified as Raja Hashim Khan, a resident of Rengpath Kralgund.
Further, at Gund Kuhroo, Police Post Langate officers intercepted Naveed Rehman Dhobi from Dangiwacha Rafiabad, recovering 8.45 grams of a heroin-like substance from him. Additionally, at Batpora, a team from Police Post Magam detained Basharat Ahmad Bhat, who was found in possession of 7 grams of heroin-like substance.
All three individuals have been arrested and charged under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Handwara. Authorities have continued their investigation into the matter, with the aim of dismantling the drug trafficking network in the area.
