Haley Manuel Arrested for $31K Theft from Reddell Vidrine Water

Former employee accused of embezzling over $31,000

EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KALB) — The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has arrested Haley Manuel, 36, a former employee of the Reddell Vidrine Water System, for allegedly embezzling over $31,000 from the utility’s accounts.

Authorities launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from the water system’s board, who reported unauthorized checks and purchases made from their accounts. An audit confirmed that Manuel had stolen or misappropriated $31,133.80.

Manuel was taken into custody on March 26 and charged with theft of funds over $25,000 and monetary instrument abuse. She was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail with bond set at $30,000.

The case remains under investigation.
