Gwalior Police Arrest Two for Snatching Gold

Madhya Pradesh police have arrested two men involved in a gold snatching incident targeting an elderly woman in Gwalior district. The accused, Vicky Kushwah of Tighra, Gwalior, and Suraj of Kailaras, Morena district, were apprehended with the stolen gold ornaments and the motorcycle used in the crime.

According to ASP (Rural) Jayraj Kuber, the incident occurred on January 22 near the Parvati River, when Rampuri Dhakad, an elderly woman, was on her way to her farm. Two men on a motorcycle allegedly snatched her mangalsutra and earrings and fled. A complaint was immediately filed at Mohna police station, triggering a police investigation.

Police conducted a thorough search of the area and nearby routes. Based on a tip-off, the accused were apprehended near the Bhadrakali Temple in the Girwai police station area. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime and revealed their involvement in similar snatching incidents in Sheopur and Shivpuri districts. Authorities have informed the respective districts for further investigation.

The stolen items and motorcycle were recovered and seized as evidence.
