Guwahati Police Nab Multiple Thieves in Crackdown Drive

ATM batteries, phones, motors, and fans recovered citywide

Officers from the Fatashil Ambari Police Station arrested Bittu Bowal for stealing batteries from an ATM booth in Lalganesh. During interrogation, Bowal confessed to selling the stolen items at scrap godowns located in Ulubari and Birubari.

Following up on his statements, police raided those locations and arrested three scrap dealers:

Rafikul Ali

Altab Hussain

Imran Hussain

The raids led to the recovery of:

13 batteries (including 6 ATM batteries)

11 new ceiling fans

18 copper wire bundles

5 water boring motors

1 Redmi laptop

In a separate incident, Panbazar Police conducted a targeted raid based on intelligence inputs at 2 No. Railway Gate, arresting Mofidul Islam and Mir Mohammad Ali. The duo was found in possession of stolen smartphones, including:

1 Samsung

1 Infinix

2 MI

1 Realme

2 Motorola

In yet another operation, Dispur Police arrested five individuals from the Khanapara area based on secret inputs. They were found with:

1 stolen battery

2 wrenches

The arrested are:

Habel Ali (35)

Zakir Hussain (18)

Avtar Singh (30)

Chandan Sharma (18)

Dipak Brahma (33)

Guwahati Police have ramped up operations to reduce theft and burglary, reaffirming their commitment to public safety and crime prevention. More operations are expected in the coming days.
