Guwahati Police Arrest Babu Ali, Five Others in Theft Cases

Stolen items recovered in swift Basistha and Panbazar raids

Guwahati Police conducted a series of swift operations across the city, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects involved in theft and other criminal activities, along with the recovery of stolen property.

In the first operation, Basistha Police Station acted on specific intelligence to apprehend a repeat pickpocket at Basistha Chariali. The accused, Babu Ali, also known as Xoru Babu of Chandan Nagar, Six Mile, was found in possession of a stolen brown purse and a blade allegedly used during the crime.

In a separate operation, a team from Panbazar Police Station detained five individuals in the Pan Bazar area following intelligence linking them to the theft of a mobile phone from Alung Newme. Police recovered four mobile phones, including the stolen POCO handset, and stated that the group had been involved in similar thefts across Panbazar and Fancy Bazar.

Authorities are continuing investigations to determine if these suspects are connected to other theft incidents in Guwahati, emphasizing intelligence-driven policing in the city.
