Mohali Police have arrested two persons in connection with the high-profile murder of Gurvinder Singh, who was shot dead outside the District Courts Complex on January 28. The authorities have also recovered the vehicles used in the crime.
The arrested individuals are:
Baltej Singh (alias Bunty) – resident of Tehna village, Faridkot, who drove the getaway car.
Mangat Singh (alias Max) – resident of Jalalabad, Fazilka, who arranged the motorcycle used in the shooting.
Police recovered a black motorcycle (PB-22-D-5444) and a white car used in the attack. The actual shooters, however, are still at large.
Gurvinder Singh, 30, a resident of Rurki Kham, was killed near his parked vehicle outside the court. Eyewitnesses stated that as he exited the court, one of the assailants shook hands with him before shooting him at point-blank range in the face and head. After the attack, the duo fled on a motorcycle and later escaped in a car to Rajasthan.
A case under Sections 103(1), 109, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 25 of the Arms Act was registered at Sohana Police Station. Gurvinder’s wife suspected foreign-based gangster Satinderjit Singh (alias Goldy Brar), who had allegedly threatened her husband prior to the murder.
According to Mohali SSP Harmandeep Hans, the crime was allegedly planned by Goldy Brar with assistance from his associates Vicky Singh (alias Vicky Sattewala) and Ravi Kumar (alias Ravi Faridkotia), both currently abroad. Police continue efforts to apprehend the remaining masterminds and associates to completely unravel the conspiracy.
