Gurugram: Three people, including two children, were tragically killed in Khor village, Pataudi area, when a speeding Mahindra Thar struck them late at night. The victims were identified as Subhash (54) and his grandsons, aged 10 and 8, who were returning home from a relative’s house.
The incident occurred around 11 pm, and eyewitness footage showed the vehicle hitting them from behind, throwing the victims nearly 30 feet. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the Thar.
Authorities used CCTV footage from the village to quickly identify the accused as Deepanshu (25), a resident of Goriawas village. He was subsequently arrested in India and taken into custody by Pataudi police. Police have prepared to seek his remand for further investigation.
The bodies were recovered by officers, and a search operation was immediately launched after the accident to trace the culprit. Police have confirmed that Deepanshu will face charges related to hit-and-run and culpable homicide.
