The Bilga police have arrested three individuals on charges of drug peddling after seizing 260 intoxicating tablets from their possession. The accused were identified as Gurleen Singh of Bhatti Bilga village, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi of Sagarpur village, and Fauja Singh of Bhode village.
In a separate case, Nurmahal police arrested a man named Steffan, a resident of Taggar village, after 25 tablets were recovered from him.
According to police sources, the arrests were made following intelligence inputs and surveillance operations in the area. The total number of tablets recovered from both operations stands at 285.
All four accused have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigations are underway to trace the source and network behind the supply of these intoxicants.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on the illegal drug trade in rural Punjab, urging citizens to report suspicious activities.
