Known by many names — Kajal in Gujarat, Seema in Haryana, Neha in Bihar, and Sweety in Uttar Pradesh — Gulshana Riaz Khan, just 21 years old, left a trail of deception across four states. Nicknamed the ‘Daku Dulhan’, Gulshana was arrested on Thursday by Ambedkar Nagar police, bringing her wedding scam spree to an end.
Gulshana had married at least a dozen men, each wedding ending in a familiar tragedy — a sudden “abduction” from the venue, followed by disappearance with cash, jewelry, and other valuables. Victims never saw her again. She would then resurface on matrimonial sites and social media, hunting for new grooms.
According to police, she was supported by a well-organized gang of nine members, including her husband Riyaz Khan, a tailor from Jaunpur, who took a 5% cut from the loot. The gang was caught red-handed near Kasadaha village under Baskhari police limits.

In the latest case, the gang conned Sonu, a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, promising a bride for Rs80,000. Post-ceremony, the “bride” was abducted by men on bikes — a tactic they had repeated at least 12 times. Sonu alerted UP Police via 112, prompting an immediate manhunt that led to the arrests.
SP Keshav Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS for cheating, criminal conspiracy, and forgery. The police are now tracing more victims and accomplices, as the gang used forged identity documents and frequently changed locations to evade detection.
