Gulshana and Sahil Hameed Held in Kashmir Drug Busts

8 Kg Cannabis Powder, Charas Seized in Bijbehara and Srinagar

In a continued crackdown on narcotics, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two drug peddlers, including a woman, in separate operations in Bijbehara and Srinagar, recovering significant quantities of contraband substances.

According to a police spokesperson, officers from Police Station Bijbehara established a checkpoint in their jurisdiction where they arrested Gulshana, wife of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie, a resident of Takiya Maksood Shah, Bijbehara. A search led to the seizure of 8 kilograms of cannabis powder from her possession.

In another incident, a patrolling team in the Rakh Arth Axis of Srinagar apprehended Sahil Hameed, son of Abdul Hamid Parray, a resident of Ramber Garh, Shalteng, Srinagar. He was found in possession of 60 grams of charas. A case has been registered against him under FIR No. 73/2024, and an investigation has been initiated.

The police urged the public to report drug-related activity in their neighborhoods and assured that strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in drug peddling.
