The Ahmedabad city police have invoked the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC) against five accused involved in the kidnapping and brutal murder of Muzammil Vadgama (30) in the Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad. The accused were arrested three months ago shortly after committing the crime.

Muzammil Vadgama, a resident of Sara Residency in Vejalpur, was beaten to death after borrowing Rs 1.60 lakh from Faizal Khan and failing to repay despite repeated reminders. On February 25, Khan and his associates kidnapped Vadgama from a grocery shop in Vejalpur and took him to an open area behind Safilala Dargah near Makarba, where they brutally beat him to death.

Following the crime, Sarkhej police arrested Faizal Khan, Rab Nawaz Pathan, Mukhtiyar Hussain Ghori, Mustafa alias Sameer alias Bodo Sheikh, and Amin Memon for their involvement in the murder. A thorough investigation revealed that these accused individuals were connected to multiple criminal activities over the past decade.

The invocation of GujCTOC against the accused highlights the seriousness of the crime and their involvement in organized crime. The investigation is ongoing as police delve deeper into their criminal activities.
