ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Albuquerque police arrested four people Sunday evening after they were caught allegedly stealing metal fencing materials from a storage property on Painted Rock Drive.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department (APD), a security officer captured the incident on video and contacted emergency services, reporting that it was the third theft attempt in 24 hours.
The suspects were seen loading metal fencing into a trailer attached to a white Nissan Armada. Officers from the Northwest and Southwest Area Commands located the vehicle as it was preparing to turn east onto Iliff Road from Coors Boulevard. A high-risk stop was conducted, and all four individuals were detained without incident.
Police identified the suspects as Gregory Anaya, 37; Jennifer Trujillo, 42; Nathan Cole, 38; and Alexandro Martinez, 32. The group is accused of stealing approximately $15,000 worth of materials and causing an additional $1,000 in property damage.
Each suspect faces multiple charges, including:
Four counts of larceny (over $2,500)
Four counts of conspiracy
Four counts of possession of burglary tools
Four counts of criminal damage to property (over $1,000)
Four counts of possession of a controlled substance
Additionally, police cleared three felony warrants and noted one felony probation violation.
All four were transported to the Metropolitan Detention Center.
