Three Arrested in Rankin County Laundry Theft and Vandalism Case
RANKIN COUNTY, MS – Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with a theft and vandalism case at a 24/7 laundry business located on Old Fannin Road near the Reservoir.
Deputies from the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene Thursday around noon after receiving reports of a damaged change machine and stolen cash.
Surveillance footage from the business and nearby locations helped identify a white Mercedes SUV as the suspect vehicle. Working with other agencies in the 20th Judicial District, investigators linked the suspects to similar incidents in Florence and Ridgeland.
Suspects Arrested in Jackson
The suspects were later located in Jackson, where Capitol Police and Rankin County investigators conducted surveillance before making the arrests.
Those taken into custody include:
Grant Lewis Gatlin
Joseph Thompson
An unidentified Black female suspect who reportedly provided false identity information to police
Charges Filed
All three individuals face the following charges:
Malicious Mischief
Conspiracy to Commit a Felony
Grand Larceny
They are currently being held at the Rankin County Detention Center without bond, with additional charges expected from multiple jurisdictions.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Florence Police Department, Ridgeland Police Department, and the Capitol Police Department for their collaboration in the investigation.
