Police in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district have successfully solved two separate burglary cases with the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of stolen property, including mobile phones and cash.

In the first case, Junaid Maqbool Mir, a resident of Litter Pulwama, lodged a complaint at Police Post Hazratbal about the theft of his Vivo Y21 mobile phone at the Dargah Shrine on February 13, 2024. A case under FIR No. 12/2025 was registered at PS Nigeen, initiating an investigation.

Two suspects—Gowhar Ahmad Wani of Aarigam Budgam and Mohammed Shoaib Sheikh of Khanshab Budgam—were arrested. During interrogation, both admitted their involvement. Police recovered eight stolen mobile phones (including brands Vivo, Redmi, Oppo, Realme, and Samsung) and a 20000 mAh power bank from them.

In a separate incident, Police Post Noorbagh received a complaint from shopkeeper Ishfaq Ahmad Dev of Bhagwanpora Noorbagh, reporting a night-time burglary at his shop. Following analysis of CCTV footage and other evidence, the accused Suhaib Ahmad Dar of Guzarbal Noorbagh was identified and arrested.

Upon his confession, police recovered Rs50,000 in stolen cash and a cheque from his residence.

J&K Police reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating social crimes and urged citizens to share any information about suspicious activities.
