The Indore Police Crime Branch arrested Gorelal Ningwal, a suspected drug trafficker from Okhleshwar, Khargone, and seized over 21 kilograms of ganja (cannabis) along with the vehicle used to transport it.
The operation was part of an intensified crackdown on drug smuggling activities in the city, according to Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya.
During routine surveillance and vehicle checks, the Crime Branch noticed a suspicious individual in the driver’s seat of a loading vehicle. The man appeared nervous upon seeing the police, prompting officers to intervene.
Upon questioning, Ningwal confessed to trafficking the narcotics, which have an estimated street value of around Rs8 lakh internationally.
Police have booked the accused under Section 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to uncover potential links to larger networks.
