Nowshera, Mir Bagh: Police have arrested Gorab Malakar, a domestic servant from Assam, in connection with the shocking murder of 65-year-old Rashida Begum. The elderly woman was found inside her home on Thursday with her throat slit, leaving the neighborhood in shock.
Officers from PS Soura immediately secured the scene and shifted the body to SKIMS Soura for medico-legal procedures. Following investigations and witness statements, authorities identified Malakar as the prime suspect. He had fled the scene but was later apprehended in Qazigund.
Initial reports suggest the killing may be linked to the theft of gold ornaments from the residence. Police continue to probe the motive and are examining whether others were involved.
