The prosecution handling the tragic stabbing case at O’reilly Senior High School, which led to the death of one student, has officially forwarded the case docket to the Office of the Attorney General.
This update was provided in court by Chief Inspector Paul Osei Adjei, who presented the case at the La District Court. He informed the court that he had instructed investigators to expedite the case process. The Magistrate presiding over the case, Adwoa Benaso Asumadu-Sakyi, emphasized the importance of the timely delivery of the docket to the Attorney General’s office and urged the deceased’s father to follow up on the proceedings. The accused, Godwin Mawuli, has been remanded into custody for two weeks and is expected to secure legal representation by the next adjournment on October 21.
The incident, which occurred on September 2, saw final-year student Godwin Mawuli allegedly stabbing his classmate, Edward Borketey Sackey, during an argument about whose father is wealthier.
Enoch Bortei Sackey, the father of the deceased, shared with journalists that his son’s funeral will take place on October 18.
