Goa police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a human trafficking case where women were exploited under the guise of providing employment opportunities in Muscat. The arrest follows the earlier capture of two agents, Sayyed Shaikh (35) from Vasco and Masthan Khan, also known as Pathan, from Margao.

According to Crime Branch SP Rahul Gupta, between October 19 and 28, 2024, Shaikh and Khan acted as overseas recruitment agents. They deceived a woman into accepting a domestic help job in Muscat, promising her salary once she arrived.

The police investigation revealed that the two accused transported the victim to Muscat, where she was kept in a flat with 11 other Indian women. The women were subjected to poor living conditions, lacking proper food and accommodation.

The investigation continues, and the authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the trafficking network.
