The Anti-Narcotic Cell of the Goa Police conducted a raid on Sunday, arresting 23-year-old Rishikesh Rao from Mapusa for alleged possession of narcotic substances valued at over Rs 1 lakh.
According to ANC SP Sunita Sawant, PSI Dindayal Redkar, along with two panch witnesses, raided an open space behind St. Michael’s School near the BSNL mobile tower in Anjuna.
During the raid, Rao was found in illegal possession of 4 grams of suspected Ecstasy powder (approximately Rs 40,000) and 15 grams of suspected hydroponic weed (ganja) worth Rs 75,000. All confiscated items were recorded under a panchnama.
The ANC has registered an FIR against Rao under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and is continuing its investigation into the case.
