Goa police have arrested two more individuals in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Kapil Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh. The teen was allegedly killed after being found attempting to flee with a rented SUV.
The newly arrested suspects are Ravishwar Naik of Aradi-Guirim and Vitthal Tuyekar of Anna Vaddo, Candolim, who surrendered to Colvale police before being taken into custody, according to North Goa SP Rahul Gupta.
Earlier, three people had been arrested in the case:
Gurudat Subhash Lawande, 31, resident of Candolim, owner of the rent-a-car agency.
Daison Agnelo Coutinho, 31, resident of Calangute.
Suraj Jotish Thakur, 21, resident of Candolim.
The incident occurred last week when the rent-a-car company owner allegedly traced Chaudhary to Maharashtra after he attempted to flee with the vehicle and brought him back to Goa, where the murder took place.
Authorities were alerted on Friday after a phone call reported a male lying by the roadside in the hilly area of Cansa-Tivim. Police from the Colvale station found the body of a man aged 25–30 near Pirna village. The deceased was identified as Kapil Chaudhary by his father, Shrinivas Singh, a 46-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh.
Goa police continue to investigate the case and search for any additional accomplices involved in the crime.
