ATLANTA, GA — Rapper GloRilla, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was arrested on felony drug charges after authorities discovered a “significant amount of marijuana” in her Atlanta home while responding to a reported burglary.
The incident took place early Saturday morning when Forsyth County deputies responded to a call around 1:30 a.m. regarding a break-in at Woods’ residence. The Memphis-born artist was in Indianapolis at the time to perform at the WNBA All-Star Game that evening.
According to law enforcement, three unidentified suspects entered the property with the intent to rob it but fled after someone inside fired a gun at them. No injuries were reported. While investigating the scene, deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana and summoned a drug task force. Officers later found a large quantity of marijuana in a bedroom closet, along with a controlled substance.
Woods voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Tuesday and was charged with felony possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. She was released later that day after posting a $22,260 bond.
Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman issued a statement saying, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice. At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
As of now, the three alleged burglars have not been apprehended.
GloRilla rose to fame in 2022 with her breakout hit FNF (Let’s Go), which earned a Grammy nomination. Her 2024 debut album Glorious continued her success, with the lead single Yeah Glo! also receiving Grammy nods.
Representatives for GloRilla have not yet commented on the arrest.
