by Sophia Bennett

COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office arrested 65-year-old Gloria Rush on Jan. 8 following an investigation into alleged financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

Authorities said Rush served as a representative payee for an individual unable to manage their funds due to mental limitations. She was authorized to use the money only for approved living expenses and necessities.

Police reported that Rush allegedly exceeded her authority, using a portion of the funds for personal expenses over an extended period.

Rush was charged with theft by conversion by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
