MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – A months-long investigation into suspected drug activity in Mechanicsville led to the arrest of 63-year-old Glenn Fitzgerald Fenwick, who now faces a long list of felony charges following a raid on his home.
On Friday, August 22, 2025, detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division executed search and seizure warrants at a residence in the 26000 block of Loveville Road. Inside, authorities discovered a quantity of crack cocaine, two suspected fentanyl pills, various drug paraphernalia, and a loaded Polymer 80 firearm without a serial number.
As a result, Fenwick was charged with 13 offenses, including:
Possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime
Possession of ammunition after being prohibited from possessing a firearm
Possession of CDS: fentanyl
Possession of CDS: cocaine
Two counts of CDS possession with intent to distribute
Carrying a loaded handgun
Possession of a firearm after felony conviction
Possession of a “ghost gun” (unserialized firearm)
Use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime
Possession of drug paraphernalia (digital scales with cocaine residue)
Possession of a regulated firearm after a prior narcotics conviction
Fenwick was transported to the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, where he remains held without bond.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine whether Fenwick was connected to a larger drug distribution network in the area.
