REDDING, Calif. — Authorities have arrested 63-year-old Glen Stevenson in connection with a deadly and highly unusual Labor Day homicide in Redding, California.
The Redding Police Department (RPD) responded to multiple 911 calls on Monday, September 1, 2025, reporting a man had been struck with an arrow during an altercation near the 2700 block of Radio Lane.
When officers arrived, they found 46-year-old Salvador Rabago suffering from a critical chest injury caused by an arrow. Rabago was rushed to Mercy Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Captain Brian Cole of RPD confirmed that the incident stemmed from an argument between Stevenson and Rabago that escalated violently. “This is the first homicide I can recall in 20 years where someone was impaled with an arrow,” Cole noted, highlighting the unusual nature of the attack.
Police say Stevenson, a longtime Redding resident with a lengthy criminal history, was already on felony probation stemming from a March 2024 conviction for possession of a firearm as a prohibited person.
Detectives quickly took over the case and brought Stevenson in for questioning. After the interview, he was booked into the Shasta County Jail and charged with murder.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to understand the full circumstances behind the fatal encounter.
