Giovanna Edmondson Jailed for Storing Gang’s Deadly Glock

Gun linked to fatal shooting found in Edmondson’s bedroom

by Amelia Crawford

A Manchester woman has been jailed for storing a deadly Glock handgun and ammunition for a drug gang in her home. Giovanna Edmondson, 35, kept the firearm—linked to four shootings, including one fatality—inside a cardboard box serving as a makeshift bedside table at her residence on Caythorpe Street.

Discovery of the Weapon
Police raided Edmondson’s home in May 2024 and found the powerful automatic Glock, a regular magazine, an extended magazine, and 18 rounds of compatible ammunition. A small amount of cocaine was also discovered. The firearm was forensically linked to two gang members, Clint Curtis and Jerome Williams, who had their DNA on the trigger.

Drug Gang Operations
The court heard that Curtis and Williams ran the “Lex” drug line, which sent mass messages to around 3,300 customers daily, marketing heroin and cocaine. Between October 2023 and May 2024, investigators estimated the gang distributed over three kilos of Class A drugs, worth £300,000.

Surveillance revealed Curtis using luxury hire cars while operating the network. The gang used “safe houses” in Moss Side and Romiley to store drugs. Police discovered crack cocaine, drug adulterants, and records linking individuals to the operation during raids.

Evidence Against Edmondson
Authorities found Edmondson had scouted locations for Williams and stored the firearm in her bedroom. Though her DNA was not found on the weapon, police recovered letters addressed to her and evidence of her involvement in gang activities.

Text messages between gang members referenced the Glock, with one expressing fear over its use. Curtis even featured in rap videos glorifying gun violence.

Sentencing & Court Verdict
On April 1, Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court sentenced Edmondson to five years in prison for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life.

Other sentences included:

Clint Curtis, 19 years and 4 months (firearm and drug charges)

Jerome Williams, 12 years (firearm and drug charges)

David Curtis, 6 years (drug supply charges)

Judge’s Statement
Judge Neil Usher condemned the gang’s actions, stating they ran a commercial-scale drug operation and required a deadly firearm to protect their trade. Addressing Edmondson, he called it a “tragedy” that she was drawn into serious crime.

Despite arguments that Edmondson was exploited due to vulnerabilities, the court ruled that the severity of her offense warranted immediate imprisonment.
