In an ongoing crackdown on opium smuggling, Gidhaur police have arrested Kishore Dangi, the fourth member of a narcotic trafficking network, and seized 7.316 kg of opium. The arrest was made on Thursday, following the confessions of three previously arrested drug smugglers.
The three smugglers were apprehended on Wednesday, and based on their statements, Kishore Dangi, a resident of Thakurbari Mohalla under Giddhaur block, was arrested from his home. According to Amit Kumar Gupta, the officer in charge of Giddhaur Police Station, the operation is part of an ongoing investigation, and further raids are underway to apprehend other members of the smuggling gang.
The authorities are continuing their efforts to dismantle this drug trafficking ring, which has been smuggling opium in significant quantities. The total haul of 7.316 kg opium seized is a significant blow to the narcotics network operating in the region.
