by Sophia Bennett

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested three individuals following a multi-month investigation into drug distribution and gang activity in Central Georgia. The suspects are Neico Tomorris Sandifer, 46, Shawanda Carswell, 40, and William Hancock, 30. They were taken into custody as part of a joint operation led by the GBI’s Middle Georgia Gang Task Force (MGGTF), with help from several law enforcement agencies, including the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS), and Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC).

The investigation aimed to address ongoing drug-related concerns and gang activity in the region. Sandifer faces multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of firearms during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and other drug-related offenses. Carswell is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, with additional charges anticipated. Hancock was arrested on a probation violation.

On February 11, 2025, law enforcement executed search warrants in Macon, Georgia, and discovered significant quantities of illegal substances. Seized items included 168 grams of suspected marijuana, 447 grams of suspected K2/Spice, 5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 9 grams of unidentified pills, three rifles (one of which was stolen from Warner Robins, GA), four handguns, two vehicles, and $1,700 in cash.

The suspects have been booked at the Bibb County Jail and are awaiting further legal action.
