LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A Laredo woman has been arrested after allegedly making a false report about armed individuals and being found in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Authorities identified the suspect as 31-year-old Georgette Nicole Gutierrez, who was taken into custody on October 24.
Police say officers responded to an “unknown traffic” call around 7:59 p.m. that evening, following reports of a man armed with a handgun inside a property. Upon arrival, officers found Gutierrez standing outside the main entrance.
Gutierrez told officers she was frightened because she believed there were armed people inside the residence. She claimed a man with a handgun was behind the main door, prompting officers to secure the area and call for the individual to exit using a patrol car’s microphone.
The man complied and cooperated fully with police. When asked if she had been assaulted, Gutierrez said no but insisted there were two women and a man with a weapon inside.
Officers observed no injuries on Gutierrez, and a search of her belongings revealed a leopard metal box containing 0.4 grams of a white, powdery substance.
Gutierrez was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and making a false report.
