CAMDEN-WYOMING, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested George Carey, 48, of Hartly, Delaware, following a violent home invasion and robbery that took place late Saturday night.
At approximately 10:58 p.m. on May 31, 2025, troopers responded to a report of a home invasion at an RV on the 5000 block of Mud Mill Road. The victim reported that three masked men, including one he recognized as George Carey, forced their way into the RV.
According to investigators, one suspect held the victim at knifepoint while the others ransacked the RV and stole personal belongings. Carey fled the scene on foot, while the other two suspects escaped in a black Ford crossover vehicle.
Troopers canvassed the area and found Carey walking on Mud Mill Road shortly after the incident. He was taken into custody without incident. A search of his person and belongings turned up:

5.24 grams of methamphetamine
3.68 grams of marijuana
Drug paraphernalia
Carey was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 3, where he was charged with the following offenses:
Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
Burglary 2nd Degree (Felony)
Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tier 1 (Felony)
Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $30,000 cash bond.
