A routine parking disagreement in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area turned into a fatal altercation late Thursday night, leaving 38-year-old Asif Qureshi dead and his community in shock.
The incident occurred around 11 PM in the congested Jangpura Bhogal market lane, where Asif reportedly asked his neighbors to move a scooter parked near his gate. What began as a verbal exchange escalated into violence when Ujjwal, one of the accused, allegedly attacked Asif with a sharp object, fatally injuring him.
Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The Delhi Police quickly arrested two brothers — Gautam and Ujjwal — based on eyewitness accounts and the victim’s family’s statements. Police confirmed that Ujjwal is suspected to have initiated the attack.
Asif’s wife revealed that tensions had previously existed between the families over parking issues. “They brutally murdered him over something so petty,” she said.
Neighbors and family members have called for swift action, condemning the senseless violence and demanding justice for Asif.
A case of murder under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
